Painting & Decorating - How can I get a job?

I have recently relocated to the London area and I am struggling to find work in Painting & Decorating. I obtained my Foundation Award in P&D approx 2 years ago and have done private work on the side ever since. I would like some advice on finding employers that would be willing to give me a chance to prove myself and gain more experience or provide on the job training to bring my skills up to scratch. Any advice gratefully received!

try your local council they normally employ young people like you. through some goverment scheme we have 4 working with us at work painter /carpenter/plumber/bricklayer. good luck hope you find something soon
ps oldest is 25yrs youngest is 17yrs

Thanks for your response, unfortunately, I will be 32 years old shortly, and I cannot apply for schemes like this. Thanks again though!
