Why doesn't he like me!!!!?????

In my local bar there is a GORGEOUS barman! My mate asked him if he likes red heads (i have dyed red hair) and he said yes. Then another mate was gonna put in a good word for me with him ect. But when i went to ask my other mate what happened, he told me that my guy wasn't interested. Since then, the guy i like started almost ignoring me (whereas before he knew i liked him, he would call me beautiful, ectect) he stopped talking to me, then one night i was in a club and he was in there. he must of said something about me to his (female) mate,cos she asked me (in front of him) if i fancied him!!! I said No! (wanted to save my dignity!!!). Anyways, since then, this guy has been nice as pie to me, and has even started calling me beautiful again! Its like he didnt wanna speak to me when he thought i liked him in case i got the wrong idea!! but now he thinks i dont like him, he's back to normal!!!!! Why are men like this!!??? I know i prob NEVER have a chance with him, but the signs did show that he liked me at first! Advise please??!!!! (sorry, youl notice im always asking for advise on different men!!! lol!!) x

This guy just isn't interested. Sad I know, and usually more of a 'male' problem where a girl is just not keen on a guy who likes her.

He flirted a little with you when he thought it was OK, as soon as he could see that it might be giving you a false impression, he cooled off, but now that he 'knows' you are not interested, it's safe to flirt again.

He's not messing you around - if anything he has tried to be mindful of your feelings.

Put your mind on someone else, and just admire him as an attractive man who simply doesn't feel the same way about you that you feel about him.
