Surfacing for a play area

Hi all! ;o)
I am the secretary of the commitee for my daughters play school and we have a small area in the garden that is a mud hole! We need to fill this area in and have been asked for ideas of what surface to use.
It needs to be;
traffic proof, all weather, cat poo proof,
non-slip & easy to install & maintain and also not too expensive as we are a charity.

Anyone any ideas of what we can use please?

I would say you want something along the lines of a rubber surfacing. I've no idea of prices, but heres a link to make a start.

Thanx for the link, I've had a look and I think the best thing would be the rubber tiles but there are no prices on any of them! which is a pain, I was hoping that maybe someone could reccommend a certain type as I have no idea about any of this lol

Just a thought, but you could look at applying for a grant. Ask your local authority first, they sometimes have money available - although you can guess it may be hard to find the right person to speak to, so perservere.

Is your play school a member of the Pre-school Learning Alliance? They may also have information re. grants.

We have had grants for our pre-school and our school. You need to jump through the right hoops, and show a willingness to raise some funds yourselves as well, but it can be worth it.

Again, there are no prices listed, but I think you're going to have to get a few people down to give quotes, to be honest.
