On the latest BT broadband (think it's BT!) advert with the young man who has moved in with older girlfriend who has 2 kids (he used to be Nick in My Family), he is writing his best man's speech. He gives the speech and everyone is laughing - he says something like 'they could hear them in Nairobi - look at his face!" and then all of a sudden it's tumbleweed across the floor time....everyone goes quiet and looks shocked...
I don't understand it!!! Am I being completely thick?? It's driving me mad - I even re-wind the flaming thing on Sky Plus to see if I can make sense of it. Please someone - help!
The only thing I can think of is that he's told the entire room about the newlyweds who were overheard bonking in another room and the guests were shocked that he's said it?
Like my good friend LOM has said though, it doesn't make a whole of sense.
you see - they are all still laughing when he makes the joke about the noise - it's just when he says 'look at his face' that it all dies down.
Ah well. Maybe I'll never make sense of it!
And maybe I need to just let it go and get out more.
Well all it means is that he's bloody cheated, and copied the speech cause they the newly married couple have not been to nairobi, and its only when hes halfway through the punchline that the whole party realise this?? i think haha
I take it that he has his speech off the internet.
One of his punchlines is "and they could be heard in Nairobi" or whatever he says.
Then he shows like a presentation photo, because it looks like everyones looking away from him and it's the picture that isn't funny or embarrasing or whatever.
