help needed regarding parking ticket please
i am asking this question for my hubby
on saturday last he went to a footy match found a parking space on pay & display.went to get a ticket at 14:23 and realised he didnt have enough money so he bought a ticket fo 4.00 which said on ticket runs out at 16:08
he put this ticket on show while he went to find a shop where he could get some change.and at 14:43 he bought another ticket fo 2.50 which ran out at 15:46
he put both tickets side by side and went to watch his match lose miserably.after the match returned to his car and found he had been booked.message being.was seen between 15:31 and 16:01 fined 100.but pay early and get a discount pay50.to me both tickets were showing and when the attendant stated between 15:31 and 16:01 then the first ticket covered that.i cant see what else he could have done other than have the correct money in the first place.we have contested this but fingers crossed.

Your husband didn't have enough money to pay for a 2.50 pay-and-display ticket and so buys one for 4?
He places this ticket on his windscreen and goes off to buy another one valid for a shorter period?
He pays a total of 6.50 to end up in a situation where he is no better off (and arguably is worse off since the attendant saw a 'current' but recently expired ticket and therefore didn't check if another one near it was also 'current') than when he had paid 4?
I seem to be missing something here...

don't send the original ticket in but use a photo copy.
send a letter to the address on the ticket (straight away )saying you had a parking ticket (COPY enclosed ) therefore the ticket was issued wrongly.
you have a valid ticket that covers the time the parking ticket [pcn ] was issued, so was legally parked. the council , parking -shop, robbers, will cancell the fine,
if you need any more help post again and i'll try to send a clearer explaination.
the second ticket is irrelevent to your situation as the pcn was issued while the first ticket was still current.and mentioning it will muddy the waters.

The second ticket has already "muddied the waters" and is the cause of this situation.
It is standard for the conditions of use of P&D tickets to include something along the lines of 'ticket must be prominently/clearly displayed and expired tickets removed' i.e there should be only one valid ticket displayed so as not to cause any confusion.

Its worth appealing and mentioning the circumstances...it would be nice to think that the warden would have used common sense with the two tickets on display but maybe the earlier ticket had flipped over.
I personally wouldn't use any of the companies that offer appeal services as they cost money and can't guarantee a positive outcome...
The funny times of the tickets may be down to some rogue presets on the ticket machine.
