Internet / Computer problem

For ages now, almost everytime I use the internet, my computer crashes when i close the connection. I dial up with AOL and use Windows Me if that helps. The screen always goes blue and says 'Windows has experienced an error, press ctrl+alt+del to restart your computer, or press any key to return to Windows'. Below that, the when it just crashed a minute ago, it said 'Filename : VMM(01) + 0000C7E9 Error : OD : 0028 : CoooD7E9'. When i press a key to get back to windows, i have to restore my active desktop, then the computer usually crashes completely any way and i have to restart. Does anybody know what the cause could be, or any possible ways i could fix the problem?

Upgrade to XP. Is the version of AOL you are using compatible with Windows Me? There's no secret that Windows Me is the most bugged OS Microsoft have ever made, I can only think of a compatibility problem between them. Hope that helps
