a princess sleeps on loads of mattresses, and only she knows there is a pea underneath them all, anyone know the name of the fairy story, thanks to anyone who answers me.

by Hans Christian Andersen, first published in 1835 and also known as The Real Princess or How to tell a True Princess.

This was my favorite tale when I was little , I even put a dried pea under my mattress, but alas I slept like a log and so am obviously as common as muck!!
