Hi Guys
My works colleagues brother needs to rehome his dog asap as he has been evicted from his house and is living with her at the moment. His dog is currently in kennels but he cant afford to pay for this now and the kennel Manager is threatening to destory the dog (this cant be done can it???), he has tried EVERY rehoming place you can think of and the RSPCA etc for the past 6 weeks and there is no availability anywhere. They all just refer him back to places he has already tried. Ive rang 11 places over the past couple of hours and they are all saying no due to no space. He has put up posters, advertised in the free papers and shop windows, rang around breeders in the yellow pages but nothing. Can anybody suggest anything. Here are his details :
3 year old male Rottweiler, Excellent temperament, great with dogs / cats / children of all ages and is fully house trained....any suggestions would be greatly appreciated x

Have they tried the breeder they got him from?

What area are you in?

One place might be worth trying if you are really desperate:

also The Blue Cross or NCDL if there is a centre near you, or what about Rottie rescue?

Thanks for your answers
Yes he tried the breeder and they couldnt help, also tried Bluecross and they referred to the RSPCA.
We are in Bedfordshire and I have just e-mailed the Rotweiler rescue etc so thanks for all your help and fingers crossed x
Hi Twinkle,

If the Rottweiler rescue is anything like Samoyed rescue then they have the dog stay with the old owner til a new owner is found, i hope this is not the case :(

There is Blue Cross in Kimpton? It is in herts but not far from Bedfordshire,
I will have a think and let you know. Will also speak to a women at work tomorrow whos daughter is a vet and was a great help in rehoming my kittens.

xx
What about offering him to the Police? Or army, sometimes the prison service also use the guarding breeds. He does not need to show any aggression, in fact it is better if he doesn't. The Police are often desperate for good dogs of this age, and he would have a brilliant life!
Don't know if this ad is any help - they want a Rottie. (London).

Hi Kita1 (and everybody else that posted)
Was just about to post an update. Great news. The guy on Gumtree is having him.I rang him strait away on behalf of the owner and he sounded a very sweet guy and promised he will have an amazing life with him (lots of exercise, huge gardens, other pets etc) so its all good. Should be taking him sometime this week (following an vetting of him & his house first). I cant thank you enough for your help! x
How did you get on? Hope everything went OK.

Hi Kita
He went to the guy off Gumtree last Wedenesday, I asked my work colleague today how he was getting on and she said her brother (the owner) received a phone call from a lady in London yesterday saying she now owned him!!!!! (he said she sounded very vauge). Im sooooo angry, this poor dog is going from home to home and kennel to kennel. Anyway I asked what he is going to do about it (the owner) and she (my colleague) said she doesnt know, her brother seems to have given up. I just wish I could have the poor dog but I introduced my male rotty cross to him and he didnt like him at all. Its driving me mad, if i ask questions I just get a shrug of the shoulders, if i ask where does this woman live then - dont know.....has he got a phone number for her - dont know, why has she now got him - dont know...Its driving me mad. Not sure what else I can do. x
