Whatever became of Spicy McHaggis?!

What happened to Spicy McHaggis, the Dropkick Murphys' piper? I saw them live a few months ago and realised the piper wasn't Spicy, it was a guy called Scruffy Wallace. And all their shows now have Scruffy, with no sign of Spicy. I didn't want to put this on the official DKM site because they almost certainly get asked this all the time!
