Having recently visited a very large shopping centre with my 4 month old son i took him to the designated changing/feeding areas to change and feed him.
once i had changed what had to be the dirtiest nappy i've ever seen i took him to the feeding area which to my astonishment had a sign saying 'mothers only'.

Should i do something about this and if so has anyone got any suggestions as to what i can do

i can see why you might find it wrong to say mothers only but often the feeding areas are for breastfeeding in private, which would obviously exclude the dads.

Its to make it easier for mothers to breastfeed in private as many dont like to do so in public.

perhaps suggest to the customer service team that they allow fathers to feed in a quiet area set aside from the breastfeeding one.

I think redcrx is right - the area is probably designed for breast-feeding mothers to feed in peace.

As a dad with a bottle, you can really feed baby anywhere, so it's less of an issue for you.

I would simply find a nice quiet place and feed baby there.

its hard to find a quiet area in europes largest shopping centre i usuall just do it in the changing room but they didn't even have a seat in the room
as i said, call the customer services at the shopping centre and suggest that they provide for the fathers. You wont be the only one to want somewhere quiet and comfy but you really cant expect to intrude on the breastfeeding mums.
Danchip, please don't feed the baby in the toiliet

who mentioned feeding the baby in a toilet
i think paulos is calling the changing room a toilet after you said you fed in the changing room.

Changing and feeding rooms are one and the same in mothercare. That might be worth keeping in mind as there is no sign saying mums only.

i actually went to the mothercare to use the feeding room and when i got there came across a cue of about 10 people waiting to use them as the room only actually fitted 1 parent child and pram/buggy
