Bono - is this true?
11 Answers
I heard a hilarious story the other day which I am hoping is true. Can anybody confirm whether it is or not please.
Apparently, mid-way through a concert he started a slow hand clap and said (paraphrasing) "Every toime oi clap moi hands a choild in Africa doies".
At which point a wag in the audience said "well stop clapping then".
Brilliant.
Please tell me this is true.

i like Bono . the story is only a myth as squarebear says but he has done some funny things in concerts like make prank phone calls to US Presidents Bush and Clintion , the Pope, the Queen ,Graham Taylor the England football manager in 1993 and got all the fans to sing to him, and once called a pizza place and ordered about 1000 pizzas for the fans and the pizza man came and started to hand out the pizza's out
If only it were true. Self-righteous t*ss*r. I really dislike him, with his ludicrous "even though it's winter in the Arctic I am going to wear these sunglasses" look, and his holier-than-thou attitude. If you want to make a difference so badly, do something with all the money in your bank account. I am sure the interest alone could feed 1million children/provide clean water for an entire nation etc.
He's also an entirely overrated musician. Sigh.
