What is the best yorkshire pudding recipe for gas oven?
7 Answers
I'm in searching for the best yorkshire pudding recipe for GAS oven!!!
I recently bought a gas oven to replace the electric one I had. It is fine in everything apart from doing yorkshire puddings. I used exactly same recipe I used before, but the result comes out completely different! I use 2oz flour,1 egg, 1/4 pint milk and salt&pepper, to make 4 puds. They used to rise beautifully in my electric oven, but now only half the height they used to be, and expend sideways like hug fat tomatoes. My husband is happy with how they look cos they taste the same, but I'm not! Wonder if anybody has encounted this kind of problem before? Please help me...

heat the muffin tin (holds 12 puds) in the oven with a little amount of fat in them until smoking hot, pour the batter in and cook towards the top shelf on gas mark 7, they rise well & upright.

I perfected my recipe this week (good timing eh)
