Reassurance Needed : S

Hi everyone,

I had sex for the first time on Saturday night. It was totally pain free and a lovely night. This morning I noticed that my natural discharge was slightly brown in colour. There wasn't alot and I've just had a couple of spots throughout today, it smells normal and I'm in no pain.

I was just wondering if this is because my body isn't used to the, erm, action? (We had sex quite a few times throughout the night...) I'm on the pill and we used condoms, so all very safe. We've been close friends for 2 years so I know he's not been sleeping around etc.

So, is this something I need to worry about or is it to be expected after the first time? I don't want something to spoil what was such an amazing night!

I'm glad your first time was such a good one! I think your discharge is normal, I had a couple of dark brown spots of blood after my first time(all those years ago, I feel old!) it sounds as though your discharge was similar to mine. I wouldn't worry sweetheart unless you get pain or bleeding or if it smells. I hope you have many more amazing nights! Daffi x

id agree with Daffy in that it is probably just old blood, perhaps a residue from your last period. if the spotting was fresh blood then, as you say, its most likely just because your body hasnt done it before.

Sounds like it was very special time. Its nice to hear about someone who is also using the pill AND condoms too, very responsible.

Sometimes being on the Pill can cause something called cervical ectropian, which basically can cause spotting and slight bleeding after sex or between periods. If you experience any pain then visit your doctor.

It's not that uncommon and can happen when you have just finished or about to start your period. And, as mentioned before, pretty much standard after your first time.

10/10 for being so careful and for thinking of questioning what is happening with your body. Sounds like you are more than ready to have sex... and have got some great times to come x
