What exactly does the term "chattels" refer to in a person's Will? If a Will says for example, "I leave all my chattels to Jack & Jill", what exactly would Jack & Jill be entitled to? I checked out the word on Dictionary.Com but I'm still none the wiser! Thanks for any help.

Personal property of any kind, other than freehold land, such as household and personal goods, furniture, jewellery, antiques and works of art, stamp and coin collections, cars, caravans and boats, electrical equipment, clothes, books and garden equipment, etc., etc., etc.
Basically it means "stuff", all the things which you own which are not "real" property (houses, land, buildings) or "intangible" assets (stocks, shares etc). It includes things like spectacles and clothes, up to and including yachts and horses.
