I know it's the wrong section, but, does anyone know if night nurse still has the drowsy effect? A good night's sleep makes all the difference even if you 've used good old Vicks!

Not sure rickee, but Nytol's supposed to be pretty good, because it doesn't leave you with a head like a sore bear in the mornings.

Thank you ice.maiden. But doesnt nytol only apply to sleeplessness? I use to use night nurse about 10 years ago and it used to be great for a bad cold etc.I heard they had changed the format and had removed the drowsiness effect from it.
Yes, sorry rickee, I didn't read your post properly, in that you've obviously got a cold or something as well. Nytol'd give you a good sleep though, which in turn'd probably make you feel a lot better the next day.
I've never used Night Nurse, so I can't really say whether it's beneficial or not, but if it suits you, then I expect it not having a drowsy effect these days'd be even better for you in a way.

The night nurse helps the cold,so if it doesnt have the sleepy bit anymore, maybe the nytol might help then?
Question Author
used together i mean;-)
It does make you drowsy, which is why they also make Day Nurse for the daytime, so you don't fall asleep!
Night Nurse contains Promethazine (Phenergan) which is an antihistamine and yes drowsiness is a marked side effect. However, taken at night, with no work in the morning, it is excellent for coughs, colds and viral infections as it also contains Paracetamol which should ease your aches and pains.
