e-bay - Trademark brand protection

Here is my little story ...
Was surfing e-bay last week and noticed that people were selling Christies Moorcroft Pottery Auction catalogues.
Well I have a whole pile of them in my office dating from 1999. I used to go to Christies Auctions in London.
The auction catalogues cost 8 each at the time.
So seeing what they were fetching ...I photgraphed a couple of them (Year 2000 March and October auctions) and listed them on e-bay ...taking as many e-bay defaults as possible.
With 2 days to go on both auctions ...I notice they have been removed ?
Check my e-amil and e-bay they have been removed to a complaint from Moorcroft PLC ???
Contacted Moorcroft and spoke to someone ....
What have I done ?
It turns I listed them under the Moorcroft Pottery catagory in e-bay ...and because they are not a Moorcroft product (Christies auction house Catalogue) , I'm breaking their copyright rules.
So can i not sell them I ask ...
Yes , but only if you list them under another catagory.
I said sorry for my mistake and said goodbye on very friendly terms. She was very nice and helpfull.
So I called e-bay and asked if they could relist them under a different catagory. They now say you need consent from Moorcroft to list any product that bears their name. What about the 600+ items on e-bay already ?
The e-bay person just started repeating the above statment.
Weird old state of affairs .....
Not that I'm bothered about selling them now.
I will just keep them and sell some other clutter.
I dont know ...its so easy to break these unwritten rules.

Fakes are everywhere so better post the clear description of your product. If other sites like Amazon or Craigslist doesn't want to accept it too then better keep the product for your personal collection.
