Why does my dog have so many bad dreams? She has them at least twice a night, and she whines and shakes sometimes vigourously. I know she's having dreams, most probably bad, but why is she having them so dramatically all the time???
You don't say how old she is.
All dogs dream like this. How do you know they are bad dreams?
They may be just as well be good dreams and she is getting really excited, chasing rabbits we always called it.
Leave her to it. If she is not distressed when waking just be envious.
One of my dogs has them quite regularly - I try not to wake her but I do touch her (OK, she sometimes wakes when I do this) but just touching her seems to calm her down.
I think a lot of dogs dream at one time or another, I like to think they are 'chasing rabbits'! Cant say I find it 'annoying' as it only lasts a few minutes.......
Hm, I love to watch my dog dreaming. I agree with Bellringer; if she is OK when she wakes, they are probably good dreams. The whining may well just be frustration 'cos she can't get the rabbits! Jack yips and twitches when he is really sleeping, and it makes me smile.
my puppy nomally make eating noisy when she is sleeping, so i persume she is dreaming food all the time, as thats probaly the only thing in her mind all the time.
