Two years ago, I saved a baby hedgehog from getting run over, but!!! I picked it up, and as its spines opened up, hundreds of fleas leapt off onto me. Unfortunately - I dropped the poor little thing in panic! It scuttled off, seemingly OK, leaving me half naked in the middle of the road! I had to rip my blouse off to bat all the fleas away. Good job it happened on a country lane!! :(

That is so cute!! Ice maiden you gave me a giggle! We too saved a hedgehog some years ago, the poor mite had got completely entwined in some garden string and my partner found him struggling to get free at the bottom of our garden. He bought it out, but every time he tried to get the twine off, the hog curled up tight into a ball to stop him! My partner had to wait until the hog relaxed, grabbed a bit of the string, pulled and cut it off, then the hedgehog would curl up tight again to stop him! After a few goes like this, he managed to get off all the string. We put it in a box to recover with some cat food to try to get his strength back. The hedgehog ate all the cat food hungrily and then ambled off without so much as a thank you! There's gratitude for you!
