Places of interest on the Warwickshire ring

We are travelling the Warwickshire ring in a Narrow boat later this year, Can anyone recommend places to stop and visit along the way? Places of interest, museums, Nice towns, pubs, etc. Thanks

These canal companion books are good, but not sure if you can still get them.

They cover the whole route in some detail, covering everything there is to see and do on the route.

I know Warwick rather well.

This is a fairly small market town, with a quite a few historic buildings. Well worth a stroll through the centre of the town plus visiting Lord Leycester hospital, a wonderful old building.

Then there is Warwick castle, pretty much in the centre of Warwick. Well worth a visit (but not cheap).

You could also "stock up" here as there are a couple of supermarkets, and shops like Boots, Woolworth etc.

The Warwickshire Ring goes through the centre of Birmingham.

The centre of Birmingham has changed dramatically in the last few years and the areas around the canals in the centre have had a major overhaul.

Here is Brindley Place, near the Convention Centre and Symphony Hall, see picture:

Lots of pubs and bars in both these areas.

Plenty to explore in the cente of Birmingham.

You need to buy the relevant Nicholson guide. You can buy them in bookshops or probably from the hire firm you are getting your narrowboat from.
