Help, I can't stop binge eating
7 Answers
Helppppp! I just can't stop binge eating and don't know how to stop. I should know better as I work in the fitness industry and am very aware of good nutrition.
Today, I started with a bacon sandwich and then some strawberries with a sprinkling of canderel and a big dollop of half fat creme fraiche.
My partner and I went to Hever Castle for the day and when we got there, I had a plain scone with clotted cream and jam and some tea. 2 hours later I had a chocolate muffin, more tea and a packet of salt and vinegar crisps.
I was still hungry on the way home and stopped off at M&S and bought a chilli con carne ready meal. I scoffed that at home, follwed by more strawberries, canderel and creme fraiche. I was still hungry and had an M&S pasta, chicken, basil and tomato salad. (I felt really sick at this point, but still wanted more).
I popped out and hour ago and came back with a Magnum classic, which I've just eaten. I still have a packet of giant chocolate buttons and know I won't be able to leave them alone tonight.
Does anyone know what I can do to stop this dreadful and unhealthy habit? Has anyone tried Hypnosis? As I'm desperate, I'll try anything.

Most people who have it are treated in conventional weight loss programs for obesity, which pay little attention to bingeing - even though 10 to 20% of the people in these programs have binge eating disorder. Most people who have the eating disorder accept this situation because they are more concerned about their obesity than their bingeing. Specific treatments for binge eating are being developed based on bulimia nervosa treatment; they include:
* Psychotherapy
* Antidepressants such as Paxil, Zoloft and Prozac
* Appetite suppressants
Although those treatments are reasonably effective in controlling binge eating, psychotherapy appears to have the longer-lasting effects.
