Hide & seek cat!

Well today I was searching the house for my cat and after not finding him presumed he was out. After several hours I was beginning to get concerned and still couldn't see him anywhere. I went out to do the grocery shopping and opened the cupboard to put away the juice and he was sat there skulking next to all my paperwork that I keep in there! He frightened me to death but of course I was glad to see him. The silly fool didn't seem at all bothered and I did check to see if he had had to use the toilet but he hadn't! Where have your cats hidden before?

We were having some electrical work done upstairs. Some floorboards were up and (you can see where this is going) the cat went to investigate. The electrician nearly had a heart attacck when she stuck her head out. LOL

Yes under the floorboards, when we last had one up, we had to tempt her back by waving a plate full of tuna at the open floorboard, she soon came back for some tasty grub! In the wardrobe, under the duvet, under the sofa, I am sure there are plenty more that I do not know about as of yet!

my old patch used to love to hide in the airing cupboard tucked away on a high shelf and would many a time give my mum a fright when she went to put washing away. he also loved to hide under my duvet. my ginger girlie margo likes to sit ontop of the fridge but her loud snoring gives her away.

Aren't they nosey? Mine has also jumped inside the tumble dryer that I was emptying. Fortunately it must have been boring, so I had no difficulty getting her out pretty darned smartly. Can you imagine the horror of what could have happened?

Usually cupboards. I have a store cupboard under the stairs and if I need to get in there I make sure the cats are out. If they get in there I can't get them out for ages. One of mine hides in the drawers under my bed - one of the front panels is broken and she knows how to move it and get in.

Typical, eh? I used to have a lovely cat called Cleo (the namesake of the little devil I've got now!) and when we moved house, she spent 4 YEARS (honest!) in the wardrobe. She only came out to eat and sometimes came downstairs for a cuddle. She got over it eventually and returned to being a normal cat (if there is such a thing as a "normal" cat!!!)

My cat from many years ago who adopted my mum (or mum adopted her - never quite sure really who adopted who!) would love to sleep in the airing cupboard - if not that then her second choice would be the bath!!! (Empty of water!!). Not sure what her reasoning was, but she spent many a happy hour or two in the bath snoozing away!!

What a delightful loveable cat she was!! :o)

Id had my kitten squiffy for 2 days and asked my mate to catsit whilst i went to work. She called me at work to say she'd lost him.

I came home to find her in tears, she'd looked everywhere! even under the toilet lid and in the washing up water in case he'd fallen in.

We called him for ages, then decided to listen hard. We could here his bell and followed the sound. We found him tucked under the oven, he'd crawled in under and over the kickboards to get there and had dragged his toys with him lol

Oh and i have set the tumble dryer working with a sleeping cat inside! luckily it started to bang and i opened it to investigate, if it hadnt made any noise id have shut the conservatory door and not gone back for and hour or so.

My ginger cat used to hide under the bed which had alot of boxes underneath. She once got stuck and we heard her miaowing for help. After we freed her from whatever box she had tried to climb into, she just pops out with a look on her face like '' I meant to do that''!! It's funny how cats take everything in their stride lol.

Awww - some lovely tales. One of ours likes to hide in an old basket which we keet outside and had weeds in it! The weeds've now gone...????

my partner put shelves up in a cupboard in the hallway and last bonfire night both cupar and margo ended up in said cupboard to get away from the noise. now margo on a regular basis sits and miows at the door and scratches the door to get in as its a comfy place to hide but we dont let her go in too often as we're both frightened we might shut her in by accident.

madaboutcats, Mine is frightened by the bangs
etc on Bonfire night and willhide in the smallest possible space she can find. She stays there for ages and once or twice has got stuck. I hate fireworks for that reason, but we are fortunate around here its only over ashort period of time. Where my mum lived it seemed to go on for months.

My old cat mitsie used to hide behind the 6ft tall bookcase in my daughter's room when she was a kitten......she tried it again once when she had grown up......did she get stuck?..never!!!!-lol
