Cliff the peter pan of pop has just released his autobiography, My Life My Way, in it he reveals his close relationship with former priest John Mc Flynn. Cliff says he doesn't like living on his own, but now there is the usual speculation of an adverse relationship. Why can't people have same sex relationships without being branded gay or lesbian! Or is Cliff too much of an Icon for all to overlook his personal life!!

I have had small doubts too, but for me, Cliff Richard represents so much that is good, and nothing - that I can discern anyway - that is bad.

We need more of his kind, good, nice, gentle people.

People are quick to dismiss Cliff Richard bt to get chart hits over 60 years is an accomplishment. He is the only British artist to have a hit in every decade for 6 decades.

And to be in the public eye as a single man for that long with mere speculation, no accusations or dirt, is a minor miracle really.

I enjoy his music - it's pleasant enough and some of it is rather very good

I used to tolerate this freak because, you know, that's all he was and pretty harmless in the grand scheme of things. But I've heard things about his 'extra-curricular' activities in the 1970s (from someone who worked backstage on his shows) that certainly didn't point to his being gay. Something else, maybe, but gay, no!

Whether he's gay, straight, bisexual or celibate these days wouldn't matter a jot to me. Whatever he is, I don't like him! At all!
