Where to live in the midlands area, closer to Leicester?

I have recently been offered a job in Enderby, Leicester. I live in a 3bed house in Cheshire, it is going to be too far for commuting, so will have to sell the house and move. I have always lived in the northwest, so have no idea at all about midlands. Is anyone know where is nice to live? I don't mind commuting so within 30miles from Leicester is fine for me. Thanks a lot!!!

Have a look at some of the surrounding villages kitty. Billesden (sp) in Leics is quite nice, and places such as Cottesmore, in Rutland. Rutland's beautiful for some nice scenic places - especially round Belvoir Castle area.

Parts of Derbyshire are lovely but the really nice parts are probably too far, Peak District etc

try lutterworth or hinkley or broughton astley or liere or blaby it all depends how rural you want to be and if you have family i can recomend the bees knees pub for great value meals

Ah thanks! I love villages and countryside, nothing can beat fresh air and a room with a view! But maybe not too rural, probably will be difficult to do food shopping i guess?
Always heard about how beautiful Peak District is, never had chance to go, now will be a lot closer :-)
Will drive down on the weekends to have a look at above places

I asked my sister who lives in Leics & she said Cosby is a very pretty village & not far away from Enderby.

South of Leicester has many lovely villages and towns. Hallaton, Fleckney, Lutterworth, Market Harborough.
Keep to the South of the M69.

Enderby is very nice, Billesdon is also nice but a pain in the ass to get to from Enderby. You could try Littlethorpe, Narborough, Cosby, Wistow, Blaby, Broughton Astley, Countersthorpe as there all the same side of town to Enderby....

Thanks so much guys, you are all so helpful! Starting new job next week. Have found somewhere to share with others for the time being. Very excited and very nervous as well. Having difficulties selling the old house because of the price dropping, so might have to keep it for now, but that will mean two sets of expense now instead of one!
