Peed off about sharing

Once again I've been out for a meal with others who have starters, main, sweet, coffee, wine, etc and then at the end split the bill between how ever many people are there. It infuriates me as it is so unfair to people who either don't drink or only have a main course, etc. If you say anything you're just made to feel bad. I think it's a really bad habit that seems to be the norm now. Anyone agree?

dont agree with you after all you are sharing there company for the evening if you dont want to share then you shouldnt go

yes pips i agree ! some stuff their faces as if they havent eaten for a week , where as you have , they eat at your expence . cheeky sods :(

it's never worth making a fuss about, but good friends would say, "pip should only pay �X because she didn't have.. whatever"!

in future maybe you should make it clear you'll be paying separately, but it may raise some eyebrows.

It's difficult, this one.

If it's just a small difference, then you should ignore it and pay up.

If you know at the start that you will be having a lot less than the others, then it's okay BUT ...

... only if you say so at the outset, and everyone agrees. You can't spring it on them at the end when the bill arrives.

i once went to one of these parties and we found one of the company who every time he got a drink (the dearest one of course he had a bottle under the table and he poured the drink into it so to teach him a lesson we gave him a drink which would upset his tummy he never ever came out with us again

lol @ jj - no, you don't have to agree, I just feel for some of my friends who aren't so well off. It just seems to be the norm now to do this that's all.
