trying for a baby
9 Answers
hi there, me and my hubby are trying for another baby, i came off the pill in aug last year, and we have just been trying by chance not by the book. i asked a girl at work, who i kno is also trying for a 2nd baby, when is the best time, and she said 12-14 days after your last period, i thought it was either straight before your period or straight after, as i was caught with my son straight after.
im off work next week and thought without the stress of work it could be the right time to try, but ill only be 7 days after the end of my period.

I was referred to the gyn clinic then onto the fertility clinic, where it was discovered I wasn't ovulating. Normal ovulation is around day 14. The doctor at the gyn clinic recommended that we should make love every day from day 10 - 18 of my cycle to maximise our chances. The first day of your period is day 1. I usually bleed for 4 days, so day 10 is 6 days after my period is finished. I am taking medication to make me ovulate. I am ovulating now, but no luck with a pregnancy yet. Try not to get too obsessed about it, because the more relaxed you are, the better your chances. I know this sounds quite confusing, but it's the best way I can explain it. Good luck and have lots of fun trying!
Hi i got a book from the library about how to conceive and it worked for us twice!
you have to examine your cervix so squat on the floor and insert your middle finger into your vagina you should feel the tip of your cervic which feels like the tip of a finger you should feel the opening to your cervix do this each day and you will soon notice it change you have to look out for it being soft(i.e softer than before) high(i.e higher than other times you felt it you will notice it gradually becoming more open and also more wet this is generally but not always 10/14 days after your period an easy way to remember this is S H O W Soft High Open Wet this is when you are most receptive to become pregnant you are at your most fertile also if you notice when you make love that you have lots of slippy mucose like stuff coming from you that is the fluid that the semen travels best in this is your body helping you to get pregnant good luck

When you ovulate depends on how long your cycle is. Google ovulation calculator and it will bring up lots of sites where you can put in the details of your periods and it will tell you!
As a rule you normally ovulate 14 days before your period so if your cycle is 28 days long then you ovulate on day 14.
