Irish Ancestry / St patricks Day

My Dad has a direct ancestor who came over to Chester City from Roscommon in 1430 and was admitted to the Chester Guild and given the right to carry on the trade of shoemaker in the town. My daughter thinks this entitles her to claim Irish Descent . (actually her Dad's great great great Grandmother Catherine Fenwick's father was from County Sligo and came over to hammersmith in the 1850s)

Who else on here has Irish Ancestry and what part of the Emerald Isle were they from?

I have some but only going back to 1840/50 ... Roscommon, Sligo and Mayo mostly.

My Great Grand Father was into identity theft, so trying to trace who he really was is really hard work. I think though that his father was Irish, but where he was from I've no idea.

Mr Spudqueens Great GrandMother was Irish, from Cork, so the kids definitely have Irish ancestors.

One of my grandfathers came from Dungannon and his wife was born in Co Mayo, but her mum and dad were both Scots incomers. My Dad's family are all Scots as far back as we can go but with an Irish surname that comes from Co Fermanagh.
While tracing my wife's (very English) family tree we came across her great, great grandfather who was born in Passage West, Co Cork and came over to Cornwall in the 1800s.

Parents and grandparents from Newbridge in Co Kildare, with some relatives on my mother's side in Mullingar in Co West Meath. I lived over there with my grandparents when I was little.

My Great Great grandfather in law was from Antrim, he was a police officer. Also my 3 times great Grandmother was from Ireland but have not traced back yet to where she was from

My great great great great grandfather came from Carlow in Ireland and settled in Kings Lynn (not exactly accessible from Ireland!). I suspect he was in some way linked as a worker to the Duke of Bedford since he moved from an area where the DoB had land to an area which had a large DoB presence. Ran several hotels and pubs, despatched one wife and married her sister and then drank himself to death.

My paternal gt grandparents were Irish. He was from Tipperary and she Cobh,Cork later renamed Queenstown when Queen Victoria visited. It was reverted back to Cork. They came over here due to the potatoe famine.

My maternal ancestors were French but fled to escape the guillotine. They were in the court at Versaille. They ended up in Limehouse.
