... we'd thought they'd never end.

Two colleagues, in their late 50's, are having a nostalgia-trip (about washing machines, so I'm not joining in). It set me off singing this song by Mary Hopkin (Opportunity KNocks). Which in turn set off a memory of when I used to think Mary Hopkin and Mary Peters (Irish gold medallist in the oympics) were one & the same woman. I used to think how great to achieve success in two very different fields. I was only young....

Did you used to (or do still) get people mixed up or think they're one or the same?

No.
My neighbour insists he is related to Jeremy Vine. He isn't.

He knows it's not Jeremy Kyle as his family has drummed it in to him and he knows he is a tv presenter, so it must be Jeremy Vine.

In fact, he is distantly related to David Vine.

Or Adrian Chiles
"I used to think Anita Harris was Rolf's sister"

"thought Tiny Tim was Alice Cooper"

"John Sargent & Jo Brand. Now that's uncanny".
