GBH with intent
i shall start the story from the beginning as it will make more sense, me and my friends came to learn that a local 13 yr old girl had been having sex with a 22 yr old man in the local area, this man is a crack dealer, and had been giving this girl crack in return for sex, my friend, his father and his cousin wanted to go round and 'sort him out'
so we left my friends house and started walking to this mans house, i got about 20 yards from my friends house before i told him i didnt want to be involved, and they walked onwards down the street, i sat down on a wall and smoked a cigarette, and began to worry about the safety of my friend going to a known crack den
so i walked to this guys house where i found the front door had been kicked in, and lots of shouting screaming upstairs, i walked in and found my friend and his father had badly beaten this man, and that they were bleeding heavily from there hands (the man came at them with a machete) i made them leave the flat and took them home and patched them up, then i myself went home
i was then arrested the following night, and accused of being involved in the violence itself, and am being charged with GBH with intent, which i know to be a very serious crime
the police have not recovered any forensic evidence linking me to the crime, no blood on my clothes from that night, and one of the witness's has even stated i arrived later and did not have a weapon of any kind
my friend and his dad have lots and lots of forensic evidence linking them to it all, fingerprints, you name it
yet the crown prosecution service stil wish to try me for this offence
so my question is, in all honesty, am i looking at spending the next few years in a cell?
i hope for some replies soon as i am going to trial in 3 weeks and am understandably very worried, i have never been arrested before, and have never even had a caution
