My family and i recently hired 2 caravans for 1 week for a holiday, we paid in full and left a cheque for 100 (50 per caravan) deposit.

On returning home the people at the caravan site have cashed the cheque stating that one of the caravans has cigerette burns on the carpet and sofa.

At no time did anyone smoke in the caravan and the burns she is refering to are actually tar marks probably walked into the caravan on my kids shoes.

There was a big pile of tar/road pieces outside the caravan which a man was digging up and wheel barrowing off while we were there.

What do you think are our chaces of getting our money back.

Thanks in advance

well if only one caravan was damaged then you should get 50 back.
But if the tar / burn whatever it is, is down to you then the 50 for that caravan is probably rightly taken.
