Emmerdale cricket team

How on earth did a little village cricket team that was only put together a couple of days ago afford a full set of cricket whites complete with the team name? How much would that lot have cost?

Its the same if they have a fancy dress do, they all have incredible costumes, rather than the home made efforts the rest of us end of wearing! And if they have an inpromptu party in the pub, suddenly they have got printed banners with all the names on.

It's not really THAT expensive lankeela.
Down here in East Sussex the next village has a cricket team.
The individual members are responsible for their own whites etc.
Other necessities are paid for by fetes,jumble sales etc.
This team has (two per person) white polo shirts with the team name on,this again was paid for by a generous donation.
So although Emmerdale IS a soap,they are not really that out of touch.

I think you are missing my point, it was only last week that the cricket match was first mentioned and hey presto they are all kitted out - without any mention of sponsorship, sales, fetes, coffee mornings - I know its a soap but I bet in real life its not so easy, even if stuff is cheap up t'north.

I don't watch Emmerdale so was only going by what your question asked.
In that case I have to agree with poodicat,soaps exist in another timescale and dimension.
Trying to fit logic to them will only drive you crazy! LOL

Diane paid for the shirts. As for the fancy dress costumes, several of the women worked at the factory where they used to rustle up all sorts of things on their machines. On the other hand, Emmerdale is not that far from Leeds. Yes I do know it`s a soap lol.

what also amazes me in the soaps is when they arrange anything, like this or concerts or weddings its always during the week and everyone attends, seems like all the work places close down whenever an event is held
