There is a girl at work that turns up quarter of an hour late everyday and has done for the past year. I;ve said something this morning and have been told she works late sometimes. So!! If I never leave dead on time and if I came in late every morning they'd soon tell me. And if she came in at the proper time she wouldnt have to work late!! Its like they are scared to say anything. I;m mean 5 mins here and there fair enough but quarter hr every day!

And for all you smartarses that are about to say 'hang on you're on here' I come in on time get my work done and dont moan that I havent time in the day to do it all.

It does seem like one rule for some and another for the rest of us - I don't know how that works - because if I set a foot wrong anywhere I'm picked up on it - but if I ever find out I will share the secret

No she's worked here 14 years. she can get quite stressy so I think they are just scared to say anything. I bloody would but its not my job to.

at mo we havent really got a manager but I did have a word with one bloke who's sposed to be covering and he just said she's here past her going home time. And!!

surely she should be here at the time she's sposed to start for calls etc. We all come in half an hour earlier tha her but she asked to start at 9.00am as she lived further away and only had a moped at the time. Now she has a car and still cant make it!!

So come in fifteem minutes late everyday and work late sometimes.

I work with several PA's and several of them sit around for a good hour of the day drinking tea, gossipiing and laughing too loudly. They don't have enough work to do, that's not their fault, that's bad management and if I thought I could get away with it I'd do the same.

Maybe she has a domestic problem where she needs that 15 minutes each morning and bosses are aware of it. Therefore have agreed to this on the quiet.
Don't shout at me, it's only a thought.

maybe there is something going onin her life that means she needs to start late and has come to an agreement with the management, but they haven't told you

or demand that the rest of you get to work flexible working day - if she can in theory the rest of you should be able to ...

china I work past my end time most days. Thing is she's only working late because she doesnt come in on time! Albaq no I know for a fact she hasnt. She lives on own and is always going on that she needs to exercise so I suggested that she gets up an hour early each morning to do some and she says she just cant get up early.

If she's ensuring she works her hours then it's fine. We can come in between 8:30 and 9:30 as long as we are here for the key hours - between 9:30 and 4:00- Sometimes I come in at 9:30 and leave at 17:00 because I very rarely take my lunch break. I don't really see the problem.

(I also work very late as well at times and come in very early if I have to, it's just swings and roundabouts).

she should be here at 9.00am as crews ring her then to let them know their times from night before. they have to leave msgs. Its all great if she does her work which she does, she's a lovely woman the thing I am againist is more that if I did it every day I would get a warning

having read more info, seems like she is swinging the lead and chancing her arm. Why can't she work through her lunch-hour. Does she take her breaks at the same time as the rest of you, she bl00dy shouldn't!!!!

if there was they would just say she is starting at this time now. But she is between 10 to 15 mins late everyday.

albaq yes she does. She also gets away with not answering phones as she is in a different room and when other girl is off and she has to cover any calls I cant make she goes and does something away from phones so she doesnt have to answer them. I feel bad saying these things but we should all be treated the same.
