Last man on the moon?

OK, that is widely known to be Gene Cernan, however as far as I can tell he was the last man to leave the moon but the last man to actually set foot on the moon was Harrison Schmitt. However I have been unable to clarify if this is the case. I see that in the list of men on the moon Cernan is 11th and Harrison is 12th. So 2 things, Is my assumption correct? and When the phrase "last man on the moon" is used, should they distingush between last man to leave and last man to arrive? Agree it is open to interpretation. If this qustion is asked in a quiz, I always put both. Yes, Schmitt was the last man to get on to the moon and yes, Cernan was the last man to actually stand on the moon. Depends on your point of view which is the correct answer.

The question has been put in a way that's ambiguous. Raise an objection, point out that there are two possible answers to the question in its present form, and demand that it be re-phrased in more explicit terms or be rejected. Mutter something about the slack use of the English language in this day and age...!!! :-)
