When there were children in the family the Christmas tree was put up just a couple of days before Christmas, but never earlier than the weekend before Christmas. I don't bother now!! All this Christmas stuff starts far, far, too early and by the time Christmas day arrives it's just a huge anticlimax and Mums are usually exhausted. We also used to have our Christmas Dinner on Christmas Eve evening so that we could spend Christmas day relaxing and playing with new toys. We had one present each with our Christmas Dinner on Christmas Eve.
It's far, far too commercial these days anyway and I am amazed at how much people actually spend on presents for their children. At the end of the day money doesn't buy love.
Yours,
Scrooge!! (not really- I shall enjoy a quiet Christmas with a lovely meal and my family around me and then will be glad that it is over!!)
