SERVIS FRIDGE/FREEZER

My mom has had the above model M0330S Servis fridge/freezer for 4 years. When she went to it yesterday, she found no power to it and all her food defrosted so it must have been off for a little while. (She does not go to the freezer every day as she also has another one in her kitchen). She called her local service engineer and on the phone he said Servis the company no longer existed, that they had gone bust and whatever was wrong with it, he probably would not be able to get the parts. My questions are has anyone have any idea what may have caused this to happen in the first place? and is the engineer misinformed about getting parts because I have found loads of sites selling Servis spare parts for the freezer, all in stock and ready to be delivered. She is expecting the engineer this pm to diagnose so I am waiting to hear from her.

We had a Servis washing machine and we're also told that the company didn't exist when part of it broke down last year.

thanks to you both. didn't think to look for an actual "Servis"site Redman41 because he was so adamant they had gone bust. Thanks for that, I will ring the number and see what I get.

Sorry to hear that foxy!
Had a Servis Freezer years ago and was very reliable. Your is only 4 yrs old so a reputable Service Engineer will have the necessary parts to fix it for you even though they might not be Servis ones.
