I was wondering if you could go to any pharmacy or chemist to get a private prescription from the doctor, or does it have to be handed in at the local pharmacy near to the actual doctors you visit?

Thanks

As the previous two posters have said, you can have a prescription made up at any Chemists anywhere.
I recently went to London for the day (I live in East Sussex).
I had forgotten to get my prescription made up,and had run out of some medication.
I had it made up by Boots at Piccadilly Circus, and the assistant didn't bother at all.
So go for it.
