Giving Blood?
5 Answers
Hi im a 27yr old lad and ive decided that i want to start giving blood, sadly there is one barrier that is stopping me. When you first give blood i believe that the nurse first must prick your finger to test what blood group you are in etc, Sadly im petrified of having my fingers or toes pricked and always have been, i was wondering can they prick my arm instead or anywhere else besides my fingers and toes?

Thanks Sqad and Eddie i shall go this week and put the question to the nurse with my info, can i just add that a recently had a blood test and im very low on vitamin B but i am taking multivits for this and need to go for another blood test in 3 months with the view of having a vitamin B injection if the multivits have not done their job, would this affect me giving blood? cheers
