I can hear another TV channel in the background

Hi all - I wonder if someone can solve this for me. I have a TV set that is definitely NOT HD-ready, it's at least 15 years old and although it does basically what I want it to do, I've noticed something over the past year or so which is really infuriating.
Doesn't matter which channel you watch, or whether you're watching a video, there's always a distinct audio from another channel coming through in the background. I don't know whether this means something inside is basically kippered and it's reaching the end of its natural life or what, but it's getting more noticeable and is starting to affect my enjoyment of watching anything.
Any thoughts what it might be, and does anyone else suffer with this?
Thanks in advance for any pointers, suggestions.

Possible touching/too near scart leads. I had a similar problem years back, when watching one channel I could faintly hear BBC2. I found out by accident that moving the scart leads solved the problem.
Are you still on analogue?I used to get this problem, called ghosting and was told to try a signal booster, which seemed to work.
I had that problem once and it turned out to be one of the pins in a scart lead was bent. I was able to straighten it with a pair of pointy pliers. Saying that you van get 32" flat screen tv with built in freeview for around £250 these days and much less for smaller tvs so why not treat yourself and forget about the problem one.
It's nothing to do with your neighbours watching a different channel to you... is it ?
