Trailing socket flex extension
4 Answers
I wish to run a 4 gang trailer socket to supply power to tv, dvd, freeview box in a bedroom. The trouble is the desired location is about 10 feet from the nearest socket. The longest trailer socket I have seen in diy stores is around 6 feet. Is it ok to use a junction box, surface mounted in a cupboard, and extend the flex to about 10 feet? The trailer socket I intend to uses has a red neon indicator light but is not surge protected.

Well, it's easy to make your own up with some white/black 13A flex. Or ask someone ok at electrical stuff to make up for you.
Plenty here tho ...

However, no problem with doing what you suggest.
