Hello, I've been very good and not asked for help, but I have got to a point where I am really stuck. The only picture I can't find is number 5, so if you could give me a clue for that I'd be very grateful. I appreciate the setter's request to not ask for help, but I've just got to a full stop.

Hello, 9 and 43, think crisis in 1936 and wonderful event in 1953. More a mother and great grandmother now.
39 and 41 - mother and daughter. JG and LM.
50 - you ought to have got this! She was loved and then reviled. 1979. Very frail lady now.
32, He died very sadly. Wonderful singer and pianist. Zanzibar.
48 Came out of a birthday cake.
53. Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence
2 - can't think of any clues for this - American. Pop music. One word name.

38 goes with 21 making the answer for clue no. 9
35 goes with clue 43
I'll have a look for the supermodel. I've tried Whoopi, Oprah, Janet J, Diana Ross, Whitney, plus some 'modern' ones, but can't find her. Her smile looks so familiar.

I've just looked at the model's pictures - no luck. Can't think of any more, but she must be really well known because all the others are.
The clues which might fit this photo which I haven't managed to fit to anyone are 3, 4, 6
12, 17, 31 and 37.
Any help appreciated.
