In the 80s he was a champion, we all loved him he was the best at his sport and I think we will remember him with fondness.

Was he the best snooker player? well he was in my opinion certainly in the top two or three players in the history of the game there is no doubt at all the he was the most entertaining player you'd ever see on the green baize,
He sinle handedly made snooker watchable to people who had fallen asleep watching the old guys potter about. havin watched him at the top of the game during the days when snooker was massive on TV I have to say he was a real star and his decline through his personal demons taking over was the same sad story as the legend George Best. I see gazza in the same light too.
