having trouble with our broadband (talktalk) bloke on phone says its an ouside fault and would have to get a bt engineer out! he said it was gonna cost a bit didnt say how much tho! any one had to have pay for an engineer and how much was it please??
looked on google but there was different prices?
It depends..........(not much use, sorry).
I was in exactly the same position - Talk and BT.
I called BT out, the engineer looked at 'their' wiring, expressed surprise that we had been able to get any sort of connection in or out of the house and replaced the whole length (from the telegraph pole) and it cost us not a sausage.........about 18 months ago, that was.
Last place I worked rented line and broadband from TalkTalk......had horrendous problems and totally ignored me when I insisted there was a line fault. Openreach finally fixed it with no charge to us.
Seems to me that if you are paying for a service and not getting it, the onus is on the "supplier" to fix it, or lose custom/reputation. The only time I'd expect you to have to pay would be if the problem was traced to your equipment in the home.
