Got stung my a wasp yesterday morning on my hand. It hurt like hell & i just ran it under the cold water tap & took asprin. Been in agony all night & took more asprin. Can't see anything just swollen a bit. Is this the norm? Not been stung since i was a child.
Seems pretty normal so far kat.........I would use Ibuprofen instead of Aspirin and try and keep it in a sling. If you have any Piriton, that nay also help.
Be patient....any other dangerous reactions would have manifested themselves by now, so it looks as though you may have to "see it out"
I know Sqad. There was no answers for Kat when I weighed in. If I had known you were around I would have left the advice to you. I was standing in a car parts shop waiting to get served and looked down to see this wasp on my foot. It felt terrible and kept me awake at night. Since then I have managed to keep well away from wasps.
My man is a member of the St John Ambulance. Whenever they get a patient with a wasp sting they spread bicarbonate of soda mixed to a paste with water over it. It takes down the swelling and eases the pain. I've never actually tried it myself as I havn't been stung for years - but it works on mosquito bites.
