Potty training-progression help!!
Hi all.
Our 20 month old daughter has taken really well to potty training. After a week she will now do both #1's and 2's on her potty. She's really pleased with herself.
Only thing we need to get her to do is to take her own pants down before she sits, otherwise she will go sit on the potty and do it through her bottoms! This is fine though as long as you are watching her as she will hold it until you pull them down and I'm sure it will come as she really does not like the feeling of being wet if she does have an accident.
So where do we go from here? We are still putting a nappy on when we go out anywhere as I can't carry the potty everywhere. And she doesn't yet want to use the toilet. Do we carry on with the nappy while out until she will use the toilet? And just keep using the potty at home (and at my parents and in-laws. She's happy to use the potty there too)
Just some ideas or time frames would be good thanks.

One day you could say oh I've gorgotten it lets sit on this lovely toilet instead and hopefully she will and that will be the end of it.
In regards to not pulling the pants down I think you will just have to try and watch her more to remind her. As she is so young she is obviously forgetting this vital part bless. I think you've done really well to train her at 20mths. I childmind for 3 girls this age and they aren't showing enough signs yet to start but take pity on me when they do cos it wil be me with a potty in tow!

Thank you people.
We've had a little progression today and she will now go on the toilet! She's done both 1's and 2's today on it and we've only had one accident (unfortunately in the car seat) so I'm really proud of her. Just the taking pants down hurdle now! Bless her. Like you say, tigwig, she's still young and I'm conscious of not making a big deal over it at the moment. Thanks again :o)
