Is it possible for a baby mouse to survive without it's mother?
We found a baby mouse a year or so ago, almost furless just a bit fuzzy in a gutter, it hadn't even opened it's eyes yet. So I picked him up carefully in my cupped hands (which are very small, giving an indication of the minute scale of the mouse) and took him to my grandparents house down the road.
We took him to a pet shop and phone the RSPCA but they all agreed that he wouldn't survive the night. So we made him confortable with a small water dispenser and some guinea pig food etc... and made him a little nest like that of a hampster. We awoke in the morning to find him alive and well.
A few weeks later he got bigger grew more fur and we watched as he opened his eyes (one opened a week before the other bless him!) and once he was recovered and ready to fend for himself we set him free.
Was this a miracle, Luck or something else? Just Curious (and deathly bored!)!
Thanks
