hello four days ago i bought a puto 1.2 with alloy wheels and low aspect tyres on does anyone out there know what is a recognised winter tyre/ rim size for this tyre

What's the original rim size? Then look at what's available ...say .. on eBay.
1" diameter increase with 70 or 80 profile should be ok .. More ground clearance for snow, etc .. but speedo would under-read by a few percent.

As Albags said fit skinnier tyres.

Low profile tyres as you and I have are not much good in snowy icy conditions but good in dry or wet conditions, thats why rally drivers always swop to high profile skinny tyres in those conditions.

Forgot to add "winter tyres" will not make much difference in ice and snow.
