The dish of satsumas/mandarins/clementines with bright green leaves (now all dry and curled up) are slowly mouldering away in the fruit dish
You have an unopened box of dates (camel on lid)
A pack of figs, with plastic fork, one taken out)
There's only orange/strawberry cremes left in the tin of Roses
You have a lump of cheese - something like white stilton, with cranberries and blueberries, seemed like a good idea at the time!
You still have a Christmas pudding, unopened, (and one from the year before, and the year before that in the back of the pantry but you buy every year, 'just in case'
The only thing left in the After Eight box is the little envelopes
And there's a box of Meltis crystalised fruits on the side with two out, grandad decided he didn't like them after all.....too much sugar!

Out of that lot the only thing I got was the after eights. That's because my son bought them for me.

I gave up buying dates when my ex left in 1995 cos he was the only one that liekd them.
There are only a handful of nuts left in the bowl. Last 3 walnuts today!
Only one I have is the white stilton but mine's with apricots. Won't get left though as hubby loves it. Didn't buy any of the rest as it's only us two.
I think I like all those left-overs except the mouldering fruit. So hang on, pack them in a box and I will send round shortly to finish them off for you.
She's probably saved them for the 'farm hands'
very very common menu there too btw, have you given over with the fantasy stuff?
ummmmm, dont, lol.

It's a harmless enough post, let that bit go ;-)

me too B00, but New Year isn't important to me so it never bothers me.
I'm sure Heston Blumenthal could conjure something up with those ingredients.
especially when you see summer holiday ads
We still have a tin of roses and some cheeses left but they won't get wasted, we are slowly but surely ploughing through them... what troopers we are.
