Facebook could invalidate your household claim!!

Are you on Facebook? I bet you put on there when you are out of the house, or when you are going on holiday dont you.....??
I predict that this year you will see some insurers investigating online social networks when looking into claims (much like the police do). Are you wondering why?
Well, each policyholder is duty bound to uphold a certain duty of care to prevent a loss - now if you are telling people publicly that your house is going to be empty for two weeks while you sunbathe in Spain, your insurers may try to argue that you have breached that duty of care....i, being in the industry, can see their point!!

I saw this and immediately tried to sign up to be insured by the OP.
Oh wait, no mention of a company, or indeed a link to it. Ah, must not actually be advertising anything then.
Maybe, just maybe, someone making a valid point?

a number of times i have had to point out to pals of mine that putting their addresses, numbers, dobs etc on fb is askin for trouble...it hadnt even occured to most not to fill in those boxes when asked
i think fb should either put warnings near those boxes or remove them altogether...ther is no reason at all it should even be asked for...
