I have reserved my new kittens!!! Any tips?

Hi all

I had to tell you as I am soooo looking forward to getting them.. I have just paid the deposit for two kittens (Birmans) both boys.. and I collect them in about 6 weeks time.

I know some will disagree on getting pedigree cats when the rescue centres are overflowing.. and I did indeed consider it - but I was being quite particular about what type of cat I was after and what age, sex etc... If its any consolation I have convinced my best friend to get an elderly cat from a rescue centre once she has moved house!

Anyhow - just wondered if anyone has any kitten tips for me? Especially on introducing them to my 10 year old male cat (Harvey Pickle Pants) who is totally NON agressive and very loving and chatty.

All tips welcome! All cat stories welcome....

Its been 10 years since I did the introduction thing... just hoping it goes as well as it did last time!

One is Lilac Point and one is Blue Point.. am thinking I may call them
Bailey and Baloo

They have little cream faces at the mo and blue eyes.. are super cute.. and when we viewed them the little Blue boy fell asleep in the crook of my arm!

I don't know much about pedigree cats, except that I had a red siamese when i first got married and she was the most miserable whiney unfriendly cat i have ever had. My 2 have settled well but not consistently happy with each other, but they have both had a tough time in the past i guess. I'm very supportive of the rescue cat ideal.

Aaah Redhelen thats nice... When I got Harvey and his brother our old cantankerous cat SUgar hissed at them.. but within weeks was washing them!

I;m am PRAYING its the same this time round!

How long do you think I should keep kittens shut away from Pickle Pants? (When I am not around to supervise any hissing!)
I'm quite nervous about the introductions... and anxious as I really want it to go well and for Harvey to not have his nose put out! He is a bit urm... 'sensitive' to day the least! Blame myself for making him a wuss!

They get their jabs in 3 weeks time.. so hoping it all goes well and I can bring them home end of Feb/start of March...

Any advice you can give me would be welcome.. Its been a while since I had furry babies in the house!

Kittens are just devils in cute furry coats.

I have a friend who had a cat called Lucas - more like Lucifer he was. He was a Burmese.

I am jealous - but not sure that I have the energy for a kitten. My two are 5 and a half and are still young enough to have fun but without being totally manic.
