A Poor Role Model For Black Folk?
66 Answers
The Tory peer Lord Taylor, it has just been announced, has been found guilty of false accounting, i.e. "fiddling expenses".
As one of the very few black peers, what kind of message does this send out to the black community who, we are often told, need positive role models?

When are people going to grow up? A better question would have been 'politician found guilty of false accounting - is he a poor role model?' - and the answer would have been yes.
Sandy, that is not only unjust - it's highly insulting and probably libellous.

Wow how do you do it eyethanyew daring to post a question criticising a person who is not white?
There is time yet though before they start rolling in with statements such as, "what has the colour of his skin got to do with it"?
"What is the percentage of bent black peers to bent white peers"?
Etc, Etc, Etc,
Wait a mo though, I haven't mentioned the risk at you also being called a racist.

naomi,
Yes, don't we all get fed up with it, but like it or lump it, it is a fact of life in Britain which does not get solved by ignoring it or sweeping it under the carpet to pretend it doesn't exist.
We live in a very far from perfect society in many ways, and skin colour, sadly, comes into that category where some people are concerned.
