Here we have a case were a man was pinched on the bottom by a woman and no action was taken for assault, and quite rightly so, but would the same have taken place if the rolls had been reversed?

I feel I can speak with some experience here, yes I was once in a supermarket with my wife and I was hunched over the trolley, waiting for my wife to be served,
when all at once I felt my bottom being pinched, I turned round quickly expecting to see that the person who had committed the act was indeed known to me, but no it was a woman in her 30s, and all she said laughing "I just couldn't resist that"

Well I ask you, taking into account she was in her 30s and I was in my late 60s, imagine if I had pinched her bottom, my feet wouldn't have touched the floor on my way to the 'nick, and I would have forever been labelled a 'dirty old man'.

So much for equality, or do women take things too seriously?

well i wouldnt have minded a young lady pinching my bum,in fact i would find it quite funny...but i do see where you are coming from aog...
if a complaint is made it should be treated exactly the same way for either sex. I think in practice, though, a man pinching a woman's bum, unless they have a close and flirty relationship, will always be seen as more pervy than vice versa. I also think a man is less likely to be offended by it, generally speaking. It used to happen to me all the time when working in the bar, I suppose I shouldn't have really let it happen legally, but I wasn't bothered, some of the chicks pinching were more than welcome to, and I do have a splendid tush!

IMO...Yes, some of them do.
my mate used to get away with doing stuff like that all the time! He was a ballsy lil sod!
i've had my bum pinched more times than i can remember, i usually just laugh it off, or in the case of one very persistant drunken fool i had to resort to threatening to ban him from the pub.
"or do women take things too seriously"

did you take it seriously, or did you enjoy it enough to savour the details only to relay them here in horrific detail. (sorry, but the thought of you hunching over...)

maybe she thought you were a nice gentleman who would see the funny side. for example i would pinch sallas bum because i know she'd like it. but i wouldn't pinch vibes bum because he'd like it even more than salla.

Pinching a total stranger butt is absolutely wrong.
Pinching a pal's butt in a playful manner might be just for 'kicks'. :-)
"Pinching a total stranger butt is absolutely wrong."

Obviously that does not apply in a crowded bar.

Do women take things too seriously?

Only the really dull ones.
